Like attracts Like

Like attracts Like. You've probably heard this saying before.

This picture taken at the Forbidden City off of a huge copper caldron used to store water in case of a fire reminded me of what my father always told me about "What you are looking for is looking for you".

Keeping your goals and desires at the forefront of your mind and reviewing them daily, insures you attract into your life the person or people, the circumstances, or the feeling you are looking for.

One way to be clear about what you want is to clearly write down what you want.

As simplistic as it might sound, the scary part is most people don't have written down goals?

Some have a general idea in their head. And others are oblivious, just going through the daily grind, reacting to life instead of designing it.

I want you to get what you want. I really mean that.

If you're on this list you're at the right place.

DECIDE today what you really want in all areas of your life then attack it with passion and a burning desire.

Master Yourself,

Sibok M

P.S. Interestingly before leaving for China, I packed my journal to record thoughts and feelings after each neigong training to review and track my progression. While flipping through it I came upon an old entry, 3 years to the day, where I clearly stated my intention of traveling to China to work with a neigong master. My book is filled with examples like these. Through reading my blogs and e-mails, one might think of my situation and unique experiences as being lucky. I'm simply following my plan. Write yours today!

Wise person plans their journey

Less than 3% have them written down.

10 % have them floating in their head.

87% don't have any.

Did you guess what I'm talking about?

You guessed it: GOALS.

It is said that a "Wise person plans their journey."

You have this one chance to get the most out of life, what are you going to settle for?

Without goals you're like a boat drifting away at sea, moving you wherever the tide brings you.

Set goals and a plan to achieve them and you've just turned ON the powerful lamp of a lighthouse to help guide the way.

Just how lighthouses are used to mark dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals and reefs, safe entries to harbors and can also assist in aerial navigation, your map, more specifically your goals, will help you stay on track avoiding bad decisions that steer you away rather than closer to your goals.

My father has taken the responsability of sharing his method and insights on how to SET and most importantly, GET what you want by visiting most of our schools and offering a goal setting workshop as well as a traditonal board breaking event to help anchor the goals you've set with an experience that leaves you staring in awe at the kind of potential and power you possess.

The strategies used are the very ones that have worked wonders for him during his 30 years in business.

If you're in the Montreal Area this Saturday, I would recommend you join us to get you fired up and ready to tackle 2009 with passion and commitment.

You can register for it here

Once you're registered I'll give you the exact location of the seminar.

See you there.

What's Next?

Has to be one of the most important questions to ask yourself in any area of your life.

Following the concept of "Constant and Never Ending Improvement" will guarantee you keep on being creative and staying motivated.

In your training you should always set standards but not be limited by them.

Start small and expand from there. Avoid making the mistake of seeing how many potatoes you'll eat in one year. If you do you'll never want to eat a single potatoe again in your life.

It starts by setting measurable goals according to where you are right now.

If I tell a student they need to do 80 push-ups, 80 sit-ups in 2 minutes and run 1.66 Km in under 7 1/2 minutes when they first start, that might be what seems insurmountable right now.

Instead we slowly build up that number. Starting at 10 push-ups for White level. Then 20 for Yellow, etc...

But once you get to 80 you have to ask yourself: "What's next?"

Take some time to write stats about yourself:

Start by body measurements. Then make a check list of the following:

Max Push-Ups in 2 minutes
Max Sit-Ups in 2 minutes
Max Speed Mile Run (1.66 Km)
Max Over Head Press (Sand Bags or KBs)
Flexibility Level (beyond or below toes)
Max Squats in 2 minutes
Max 100 m sprint

And so on. Then do x 10% percent each exercise and continue pushing the limit.

There is no limit to what you can accomplish physically when you jot down stats.

If you need help we're offering our personal stat system for free when you order a copy of our FSD Training guide this month.

Simple Meditation techniques

Can meditation help in today's hectic world?

I believe in does.

Meditation techniques have been practiced for thousands of years, tracing it back to India and southeast Asia.

Although less popular here in North America, every year it's gaining more and more momentum.

The major factor explaining this rise in popularity is dealing with stress.

Stress doesn't affect you the same if you're meditating daily.

Many studies show meditators benefit from a decrease in Cortisol production (a stress hormone) thus making it easier to deal with stress when it occurs, lower blood pressure, less anxiety and nervousness, more confidence, and also helps with chronic pain and insomnia.

If not for the major health benefits, you can also meditate for getting what you want.

I've talked about this before: "You become what you focus on".

It's a great goal setting tool. Using specific meditation techniques and doing them how we teach, will help attract what it is you want.

You can also use meditation for reflection.

Taking some time to feel your breath and to be thankful for what you have in your life.

You can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes daily to do this.

Considering the amount of time people (maybe even you) spend in front of the TV, 30 minutes of "alone time" is by far a better investment of your time and energy.

If you want to take up meditation you won't have to shave your head, sit in a lotus position, wear a white robe and eat only white rice.

To learn more about meditation and how to register for our next event April 13th, send an e-mail here to reserve your spot.

Are you driving with a flat tire?

There's nothing I hate more than a flat tire. I'm up to 5 in the past year. Yes 5!

This morning I jump in my car ready to head out to Montreal like I usually do. I feel the car is pulling to the left and running pretty rough.

Lucky for me I wasn't too far from home and turned back to discover the problem.

You quickly realize you just can't drive with a flat.
It got me thinking (That's a good thing)

Are YOU going through life with your own kind of Flat?

You might have an emotional flat. A physical flat. A financial flat. Something, stopping you from getting from point A to point B.

In almost all cases you create the Flat.

It might be you making excuses not to train. It might be you procrastinating before starting your fitness training routine.
It might be you purposely sabotaging your results by over-indulging and getting side tracked from your healthy eating habits.
Dealing with those issues are easy when you have a plan mapped out. A vision for yourself if you will.
You need the highest quality map to get you on your way and it comes free when you order our FSD Training Guide.

Get it here.

Master Yourself,

Sifu Martin

P.S. There's a saying I like from Helen Keller: "It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision".

Can you keep a Promise?

How many resolutions did you break yet?

1,...2...,3?

It's never easy to change your ways. Like a tree, once the branches have "set" they can't be twisted in another direction right? Wrong.

Think of Bonsai trees. You can mold the branches however you please with clamps and wire mesh.

That's all you need to find, some clamps (desire) and wire mesh (action).

Strong is he who forces his thoughts to control his actions.
Weak is he who allows his thoughts to control his actions.

I'm sure you have a million thoughts go through your head 24/7, while awake and when sleeping. You need to decide which ones you'll act upon. Some are positive and some are negative. Some support you and some disempower you.

You already know this. Then why do we get side-tracked?

EGO.

Your Ego needs to win. It always needs to be right. Your Ego is satisfied, comfortable, and hates change. It knows exactly how to talk to you.

You know that voice.

The one that comes on when you try something new, when you experience fear, when everything is going right.

It often starts with:"What if ___________" or
"You don't_____________"(fill in the blank)?

Learn to recognize it and say: Shut Up!

Then do what you wanted to do with desire and action.

If your goal is to start a strength training program then it becomes just like brushing your teeth. A habit. No thinking. No questions. No whining.

I need to train everyday (Shut Up)

I will lose 15 pounds (Shut Up)

I must develop a strong, lean body (Shut Up)

There, that's more like it, you're in control, the past does not equal the future.

This year things will be different. You bet.

Why?

Cause you'll have me by your side watching over you daily this year.

As always, Aim Higher,

Sifu Martin

Beat Procrastination in 2008

How many things did you start in 2007 and did not finish?

I remember 22 years ago when my parents brought us for the first time to Disney's Epcot Center. There was one exhibit that really got me excited.

The Future

It showed how things would be in the year 2000.
Flying cars, super advanced cities, robots helping with chores and taking care of the kids while parents went off on a galactic trip somewhere.

That exhibit is no longer there today.

Or the Car Industry that's been promising those super cool cars. Every year they show them in magazines and reveal them at car shows but they're never made available to the general public.

What I'm trying to say is: "Don't do like they did".

Do what you say you're gonna do.

There are countless other examples of Politicians, Bosses, Employees, and Parents saying they'll do this or that, and never following through on it.

In a way, since this is happening all around us, it has made it acceptable to not Finish what you start.

Do you finish what you start?

When you're writing your goals (you are writing your goals right?), ask yourself:

"For who am I writing this goal?

To impress my family or a co-worker?

Or is it really something that I need to commit to this year.

What if you had a tool you could use to help you organize and map out exactly, step by step, the realization of every goal you have for 2008?

Well my friend, there is such a tool. And it comes free when you get your own copy of Fang Shen Do Training Guide.

It's our gift to you to help you get on your way to knocking off those goals one by one this year.

Aim higher,

Sifu Martin
